The aim of this particular activity was to familiarise the children of the 6th grade with the world of museums in a diversified and innovative way, using the latest technological means.
The Maritime Museum of Piraeus and the National Historical Museum of Athens were selected, where the digital enrichment of some of the exhibits and the guided educational activities covered specific learning objectives of the 16th "Museums" section of the 6th grade Language Class, as well as the 3rd section of the History book, titled "The Great Revolution 1821-1839". The children worked in groups for the duration of the activity. With the assistance of the teachers, they were originally invited to discover the museum's augmented reality exhibits and to complete worksheets based on their observations.
Then they were familiarised with the programming of augmented reality and the design of their own educational activities using audiovisual material, which they searched or created themselves.
