Its main goal being the support of initiatives for the upgrade of the educational process, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation supported the “Innovative Classrooms” training programme, implemented during the 2023-2024 school year at “The Inventors” Robotics and Innovation Academy. Designed by teachers for teachers, the Programme aimed to provide simple yet meaningful tools to help educators integrate engaging collaborative activities in the classroom, which will inspire imagination, curiosity, and creative thinking among their students.
During the first part of the Programme, teachers familiarised themselves with the concepts of creativity and innovation, while in the second part, participants, using simple materials to create practical solutions, were trained in new ideas and design thinking methodologies. They then applied these methods together with their students in the classroom, with the ultimate goal of cultivating a culture of exploration.
1,050 teachers from 70 schools in remote areas across Greece participated remotely to in the Programme, while 97 teachers from schools in Attica participated in the on-site workshops.
96% of participating teachers stated that they are almost certain to immediately apply in their classrooms what they learned through the Programme.
“As a teacher working in the field of Special Education, I design and implement intervention programmes for children with learning and emotional difficulties. However, this training programme was truly game changing for me. I applied the knowledge I gained to lesson plans focused on Written Expression and Psychosocial Adjustment. Especially in the Psychosocial Adjustment activities, the advanced teaching techniques presented boosted my students’ confidence, creativity, and collaboration. They now seem more engaged and enthusiastic. I wholeheartedly recommend this Programme to educators who wish to transform their teaching and inspire their students.”

“This is a Programme that aims to integrate 21st-century skills such as collaboration, creativity, imagination, and critical thinking into the learning process, while also being very fun. It definitely helped me think of alternative ways to approach learning objectives, and I found it both beneficial and pleasant. The trainers were exceptionally well-prepared and provided full support to us participants, while conveying their positive energy, which is the driving force behind the entire initiative. I hope there will be more training cycles in the future.”
