The support to the “Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships” Programme, a joint initiative of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and Deree – The American College of Greece, has continued during the academic year 2023-2024. Through the Programme, deserving undergraduate Parallel Studies students (Deree students, who study in parallel at Greek Public Universities) and fulltime undergraduate Deree students had the opportunity to pursue scholarships that will enable them to travel and participate in study abroad programmes at renowned universities abroad during the summer or Fall/Spring semester. In this framework, scholars had the opportunity to expand their academic knowledge, to acquire necessary skills and to explore different paths of personal development through their socialisation within the multicultural environment offered by leading universities around the world.
22 students earned a scholarship under the “Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships” Programme during the 2023-2024 academic year, bringing the total number of scholars to 85.
London School of Economics and Political Science, Columbia University and University of California Berkeley are just some of the prestigious educational partner institutions that the scholars attended in the 2023-2024 academic year under the “Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships” Programme.
The scholars took courses in a wide range of scientific fields, such as Data Analysis and Information Technology, Financial Studies, Psychology, Film Theory and Cyber Law.
“This scholarship essentially gave me the opportunity to discover a whole new world. The academic experience broadened my horizons and greatly strengthened my self-confidence, while at the same time I met people from all over the world, listened to their perspectives, and shared unforgettable moments with them. That summer proved to me how harmoniously academic and social life can coexist, and that when the right balance is maintained, it can become a journey of learning, personal growth, and exploration.”
