Career Sign

Career Sign aspires to consist the hub of career counseling for socially vulnerable groups. To become a point of reference for people with disabilities, socially hindered persons, human resources executives and professionals in the field.

Career Sign's goals are:

  • To turn into a space where advisors, teachers and other professionals can be informed and trained by specialized personnel, in order to become more effective in excersing their professions.
  • To inform and train human resources managers in making good use of diversity.
  • The professional development of people belonging to vulnerable groups with the aim of integrating them into the labor market.
  • The development of psychometric tools and methods adapted to the needs of vulnerable groups

Based on science, technology, psychology, education and through the utilization of research and the development of psychometric tools, Career Sign designs seminars and new methodologies for the implementation of the above objectives.

Within the framework of the 3rd cycle of the "Points of Support" programme, the assessment of accessibility of the School of Information and Communication Technologies of the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus was conducted and an accessible e-book was created by volunteers-students; the e-book contains necessary general information on the department, a record and an assessment of the accessibility of the facilities, as well as the professors’ mindset and adaptability towards disability.

  • 12 students - volunteers in 26 locations participated in this activity (from October 2018 until March 2019).
