The Bodossaki Foundation is pleased to announce the 3rd round of its Thematic Grants Programme for the 2025-2026 period. This round will be co-funded by the Bodossaki Foundation, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, and the TIMA Public Benefit Foundation, with a focus on the theme of Healthy Ageing.

The aim of the Foundations is to work collectively, to the best of their ability, to enhance the quality of life for older adults in Greece.

As part of the Programme, a total budget of €300,000 will be allocated, with individual grants of up to €50,000 available for selected projects. The Programme is due to commence in December 2025, with a project implementation period ranging from 8 to 12 months.

Theme of the Call

Greece faces significant challenges due to the rapid ageing of its population, one of the fastest-growing in Europe. Older adults often face limited access to quality healthcare services, particularly in rural and remote areas. In addition, high rates of chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders, which require long-term and coordinated care, are prevalent.

Furthermore, the lack of supportive social networks increases the risk of isolation and depression, which in turn negatively impacts the quality of life of elderly individuals. The situation is further aggravated by the understaffing and limited resources in long-term care facilities, which hampers the ability to meet the growing demand for services.

In response to these challenges, this call for proposals aligns with the United Nations’ Decade of Healthy Ageing 2021-2030 and the Bodossaki Foundation’s Public Health Action Plan. It supports initiatives that promote Healthy Ageing, with the primary goal of empowering older adults and ensuring they can lead dignified, independent, and active lives.

Key Areas of Focus

The initiatives supported through this call should address one or more of the following strategic pillars of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing, which aim to improve the quality of life for older adults and increase their participation in society:

  1. Changing attitudes towards ageing and older individuals
  2. Creating age-friendly environments
  3. Providing integrated and customised healthcare services
  4. Ensuring access to long-term care services

Applications must be submitted electronically through the Bodossaki Foundation’s Programme Portal by Monday, 30 June 2025, no later than 14:00 Greek time.

Questions may be submitted to the Bodossaki Foundation no later than 10 working days before the application deadline. The Bodossaki Foundation is not obligated to respond to clarification questions received after this date.
