Following the Public Call announced on 9 December 2010, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation decided to assign the conduct of the 2011 International Summer School of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation to the scientific team that submitted the proposal entitled:

"Mediterranean agroforestry and its role in the present environmental challenges".

The following educational institutes will co-organise the Summer School:

  1. Technological Educational Institute of Lamia – Department of Forestry and Management of the Natural Environment, Greece
  2. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Faculty of Forestry and Natural Environment, Greece
  3. University of Florence – Department of Plant Production, Soil and Agroforestry Environment Sciences, Italy
  4. University of Extremadura – Department of Plant Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences, Spain
