The devastating fires that affected much of the country in August 2007 led the Foundation in the design and implementation of the program "It is our duty", the main axes of which was on the one hand the restoration of fire-stricken areas and on the other hand the prevention of similar situations in the future.
In this context, among other activities, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and Eurobank EFG funded the restoration and the fire proofing of the Archaeological Museum of Olympia as well as the reforestation of the wider area of the archaeological site and the wider landscape of Olympia which includes Kronio hill, the hills Zouni and Kalossaka, the wider area of the new museum of Ancient Olympia, the archaeological site of the stadium and the park of the International Olympic Academy.
More infromation available (in Greek) the the mini site of the programme.
