Olympic Preparation Scholarship Programme

The Olympic Preparation Scholarship Programme of the A. G. Leventis Foundation has become a well-established institution as it has been supporting, for the last 24 years, those who train hard, often in unfavourable conditions, in order to be able to deservedly compete with the best of the world in this great celebration of athleticism, the Olympic Games. 

In their shared belief in the importance of supporting excellence and helping young people to attain their dreams, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, a supporter of the Programme since 2016, the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Cyprus National Olympic Committee have joined the A. G. Leventis Foundation for the period 2022-2023, to support Greek and Cypriot athletes in their preparation for the Olympic Games.

• For the 2022-2023 period, sports scholarships have been awarded to 68 athletes from Greece and Cyprus on the basis of 2022 sports distinctions.
• Over 600 scholarships have been awarded to athletes from Greece and Cyprus from the beginning of the Programme in 1999 to 2021.
• Olympic scholarships have been received by athletes of a wide range of sports, such as track and field, cycling, canoeing and kayaking, archery, fencing, taekwondo, sailing, swimming, rowing, tennis, etc.
