The Mayor of Maroussi Mr. Giorgos Patoulis and the representative of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation Mr. Dimitris Afendoulis signed a contract regarding the donation of food to the Municipality’s Social Grocery, for the relief of 100 families who live in Maroussi near the poverty line and cannot meet their basic needs.
 
Based on the contract signed between the Food Bank - Foundation to Fight Hunger, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Municipality of Maroussi, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation undertakes to provide the Municipality’s Social Grocery with 150 packages containing various food products on a monthly basis for a whole year, starting from the first delivery that took place today.
 
Mayor Mr. Patoulis, on the occasion of the signing of the contract, said:

“Our warm thanks to the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation for its donation, by which we actively unite our forces towards a common effort to enhance social relief and solidarity. Our Municipality’s social services will take care of the distribution of food to the families in need, giving priority to single-parent families and families with many children, households with no income and unemployed citizens.”

On behalf of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, Mr. Dimitris Afendoulis, after congratulating the Mayor of Maroussi, Mr. Patoulis, for his initiatives and actions for the benefit of weak citizens, said:

“in the broader context of “It is Our Duty” programme that the Latsis Foundation implements for the relief of hundreds of families tormented by the crisis in Greece, from today we include in the food aid programmes more than 250 fellow-citizens who live in Maroussi, a Municipality with which we are related through long-standing and close collaborations.”

On July 20th, 2012 the Mayor of Maroussi and the Secretary of the Executive Board of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation sign the relevant contract.
