Donation of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation to the Hellenic Army Academy

On Monday, January 27, 2025, the official Handover Ceremony for the donation of material and technical equipment by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation took place at the Hellenic Army Academy. This donation included state-of-the-art technological equipment, which is expected to significantly contribute to the enhancement of the Academy’s educational mission and improve the Cadets' daily activities.

Specifically, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation provided the Hellenic Army Academy with, among other items, 230 laptops, 30 desktop computers, printing and scanning equipment, as well as an industrial-grade 3D printer. The 3D printer will be utilized in the Academy’s Engineering and Ballistics Technology Lab, supporting research and education in modern applications of defense technology.

Among the distinguished attendees of the Ceremony were: the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the Mayor of Vari – Voula – Vouliagmeni, Mr. Grigorios Konstantellos, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios Eleftherios Kataras HN, Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, General (Ret.) Georgios Kampas, the former Minister of Citizen Protection and Honorary Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, General (Ret.) Charalambos Lalousis, Air Vice Marshal (I) Ioannis Kostakis, representing the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (I) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the Superintendent of the Hellenic Army Academy, Major General Anastasios Polychronos and the President of the Executive Board of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, Dr. Peter Kalantzis.

The Superintendent of the Hellenic Army Academy, Major General Anastasios Polychronos, in his address during the Ceremony, emphasized that:

''This donation is not merely a material contribution but an act of solidarity and support that significantly contributes to achieving our goals and strengthening our initiatives for the benefit of the Hellenic Army Academy.''.

On behalf of the Foundation, Dr. Peter Kalantzis, President of the Executive Board, stated during his address:

''Through the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation's donation of state-of-the-art technological equipment, we aim to facilitate the educational process and promote research by providing access to advanced technological tools. This initiative continues the philanthropic legacy of John Latsis and his family in supporting the Armed Forces and the Security Forces. It is an honor for the John S. Latsis Foundation to be counted among the donors to the Armed Forces of our homeland, and we are confident that this donation will support the Academy’s vision of promoting excellence, innovation, and continuous progress.''.
