The activity emphasized both on the timelessness of the refugee issue as well as the understanding of the necessity for awareness. Three different classes (3rd, 4th,5th ) were involved. Each one of them approached different sections of the subject. Students of each class presented the material of their work to the others through co-teaching that was taking place once a month. The programme's contents corresponded to the curriculum of each class through the use of inter-diciplinary approaches, cooperative activities and educational visits which were implemented at both class and group level. In addition, we had been working with other schools from Europe through an eTwinning project. Actions of solidarity were organized by students themselves towards the young refugees of Mytilene and Ritsona. The final event brought back memories of the uprooting of Greeks of Asia Minor, which also helped people to understand that refugees of the present are also people with history, culture and experiences hidden in their souls.
