“Future Leaders Series” Programme

Aiming to create a high-quality educational ecosystem to match the new educational and professional reality, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation supported an innovative programme entitled “Future Leaders Series – Thrace”, designed and implemented by Alba Graduate Business School in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of the Democritus University of Thrace. The Programme, which was implemented in June 2022 at= the facilities of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, was addressed to secondary school students (aged 15-17) attending school units in Komotini, aiming to provide them with valuable skills for the digital transformation era and the ongoing changes in the economy, society and the business sector. The aim of the Programme was to shape tomorrow’s leaders through a series of theoretical and hands-on lessons, visits to local industries, sports activities, and group exercises with stimuli from the fields of sports, business and volunteering. At the end of the summer school, students became more familiar with the professional field and with concepts such as leadership, sustainability and giving back to the community, while adopting a lifestyle based on physical and spiritual well-being.

  • 38 students from Junior High Schools and High Schools of Komotini participated in the Programme.

“The Programme represents a significant effort of transformative learning, as, through the knowledge ecosystem created, it offered the High School students of Komotini the opportunity to develop cuttingedge knowledge for the future of work, to apply their knowledge and skills in the framework of a team and to share the values which they will build their future on. The experience was equally transformative for the contributors of the Programme, serving as a springboard for a fruitful collaboration between a public benefit foundation, a non-state Business School, a public university and members of the community of Komotini.”

“My participation in the Programme left me with the best impression and unforgettable experiences. What stood out for me was the organisation, the friendly and approachable instructors and the great vibe of the group activities. I have already shared my experience with my friends and classmates and they would love to participate in the next Programme!”
