Sonic imagery: musical acoustics and visual representations using digital cinema techniques

Image, sound, their creative manipulation, the visual, acoustical, pictorial and artistic result that grows from their juxtaposition and creative use of digital techniques, as well as the framing and musical compositions that will evolve, will form the basis of the proposed research, that will lead in both the development of a written statement regarding technological approaches in contemporary audiovisual environment, concluding with an artistic result, a short documentary essay-film, in the form of a video-art project.

It will be the result of an artistic and scientific collaboration between three members of the Cinema department of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, representing their respective disciplines: Christos Goussios, Lecturer in Cinema Sound, a musician and sound artist as well, Yannis Kolaxizis, Lecturer in Cinema Editing, a visual artist emphasizing in experimental-cinema and video-art. Finally, coordinator and creative collaborator as well, Dimitris Theodoropoulos, Associate Professor in Cinematography.
