Civil Protection Volunteer Organisation of the Municipality of Penteli

The Civil Protection Volunteer Organisation of the Municipality of Penteli aims to protect the citizens of the municipality from natural disasters by taking measures and actions of prevention, preparedness and recovery and by helping the residents in emergency situations. Furthermore, they offer social solidarity services to vulnerable groups that reside in Penteli, Nea Penteli and Melissia.

Serving this cause, since June 2012, the Volunteer Organisation along with the Municipality of Penteli implements a food aid programme, in collaboration with the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Food Bank - Foundation to Fight Hunger, aiming to improve the life of 400 families that need help. The recipinets selection was made by the Volunteer Organisation giving priority to poor, large and single parent families, taking into account family income, unemployment, health problems and disabilities.
