10 Public Benefit Foundations join forces to support small-size Civil Society Organisations

 

10 Public Benefit Foundations in Greece are once again joining forces to support the Civil Society and announce a public call for participation in the 6th funding round of the "Points of Support" programme.

The "Points of Support" programme is addressed to small-size Civil Society Organisations in Greece, supporting them in the implementation of original small-scale projects with maximum social impact, in the strengthening of their organisational structures and in the development of capacities that will contribute to their overall sustainability.

Τhis new funding cycle of the Programme, which started in 2015 and has to date funded 119 projects with more than 40,000 beneficiaries, is a collaborative initiative of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, the TIMA Charitable Foundation, the Bodossaki Foundation, the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation, the Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation, the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Public Benefit Foundation, the Costas M. Lemos Foundation and the KIKPE Public Benefit Foundation for Social and Cultural Work, the Hellenic Initiative Canada and the Athina I. Martinou Foundation. The new cycle of the Programme is coordinated by the Bodossaki Foundation.

In the context of the Programme’s 6th funding round, up to 39 actions will be supported with an amount of €5,000 each, lasting up to 6 months and falling within one of the following thematic areas, as identified by the Programme's funders:

  • Social Ιnclusion of People with Disabilities (John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation)
  • Support for the Elderly (TIMA Charitable Foundation)
  • Prevention and Promotion of Adults' Health (KIKPE Public Benefit Foundation for Social and Cultural Work)
  • Children and Health (Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation)
  • Support for Projects on Poverty and Food Crisis Relief (The Hellenic Initiative Canada)
  • Support for Projects on Environmental Protection 
    • Protection of Flora and Fauna in the Urban and Peri-urban Environment (Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation)
    • Protection of Αquatic Εcosystems: Lakes, Rivers And Wetlands (Athanasios C. Laskaridis Public Benefit Foundation)
    • Protection of Forest and other Terrestrial Ecosystems (Costas M. Lemos Foundation)
  • Social Innovation in Small Coastal Local Communities (Athina I. Martinou Foundation)

Eligible organisations must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be legal entities of non-profit character based in Greece (associations, clubs, civil non-profit companies, etc.), or social cooperative enterprises.
  2. They must have an annual turnover of up to €50,000 in the last tax year (2022).
  3. Their establishment and acquisition of legal statuts in Greece must be completed at least one (1) year prior to the time of the announcement of the public call (i.e. for the sixth round of the programme the establishment must be completed until February 27, 2022).
  4. They must not fall under the jurisdiction of the State and their activities must not be of any religious, political or commercial nature.

Alongside the funding, the Programme includes free participation in capacity building activities for the grantee organisations, which will be funded and implemented by Social Dynamo, the NGO hub of the Bodossaki Foundation. 

Interested organisations can submit their applications until the 30th of April 2023.

The results will be announced in July 2023
