The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation announces a new donation to "Thriassio" General Hospital of Eleusis, a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus referral hospital. Through the addition of medical technology equipment, the donation aims at reinforcing both the Emergency Department (ED) and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Latsio Burn Center, which is an integral, instrumental part of the Hospital.

This new donation forms part of the Foundation’s targeted interventions in the Health sector, for the purpose of upgrading the infrastructure and equipment of hospital units throughout Greece, in order to enhance their readiness to deal in a timely manner with emergency situations, such as the one experienced by our country in recent weeks.

Following this donation, the Thriassio General Hospital ED is further equipped with vital signs monitors, a ventilator, portable ECG monitors, an ultrasound scanner and stretchers. The donation to the Hospital’s Latsio Burn Center consists in a contribution to the ICU’s modernization, following installation of a new central monitoring station for its 8 ICU beds, along with new, state-of-the-art bedside patient monitors.

The Latsio Burn Center, operative in Thriassio Hospital since 2005 for the treatment of serious burns and injuries, will be used, if required under the action plan of the Ministry of Health on hospitalization of intubated SARS-CoV-2 patients.
