The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation announces that it intends to grant up to five (5) new scholarships to postgraduate students and/or PhD candidates at Greek Higher Educational Institutes for the 2012-2013 academic year.

1. PREREQUISITES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION

Candidates may submit an application if:

  • They are graduates of a High School of the Prefecture of Ilia, where they completed all 3 years;
  • The average grade of their undergraduate degree as well as of their postgraduate degree, for PhD candidates, is at least eight (8.00);
  • They have received an offer in writing for a place in a postgraduate programme or to carry out a doctoral thesis;
  • The annual income of their family and/or their personal income, if applicable, for the last 2 years does not exceed thirty thousand euros (EUR 30,000);
  • They are not aged over 30 years old.

Any applications that do not meet the above prerequisites will not be evaluated.

Candidates are not required to have been scholars of the Foundation during their undergraduate studies.

2. SELECTION PROCESS

The selection will be made by the Selection Committee of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, which will take into consideration, in addition to the above prerequisites, the following criteria: origins from the Prefecture of Ilia (priority will be given to these candidates) and social criteria.

3. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Candidates are requested to submit their application by Friday, 16 November 2012, through the Scholarship Online System, which will be activated and will be accessible through the Foundation’s website in early November.
