Renovation of the emergency department of the Haematological Clinic
"Laikon" General Hospital of Athens
The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation directs a major part of its fundings towards social welfare. Grantees are public institutions as well as non-governmental organisations focused on the relief of vulnerable social groups.
To this end, the Latsis Foundation funded the renovation of the emergency department of the Haematological Clinic of the "Laikon" General Hospital of Athens in 2010 significantly upgrading the infrastructure of the units where patients undergo chemotherapy. Due to the high volume of patients the department receives on an annual basis, particular emphasis was placed on improving the functionality of the facilities.
The Haematological Clinic of the "Laikon" General Hospital of Athens receives an average of 10,000 patients annualy.
