Food Security

The food security issue area focuses on three primary directives; improvement of surplus-food-to-beneficiary-in-need supply chains, provision of healthy school meals for children from food insecure families, creation of effective food delivery mechanisms/networks (vouchers, parcels, food pantries) for vulnerable populations (elderly, unemployed, single-parent households).

It is clear that food supply chains  are  facing cost-ineffectiveness issues and sustainability of food subsidy programs needs  to be addressed but we have seen that core funding with strategic geographic collaborations between NGOs, volunteers, private business and transparent public sector institutions  can result in multiplier effect objective accomplishments.
