Friends of Europe
Friends of Europe is an independent, non-profit think-tank for policy reflection and debate on key global and European issues that span political, economic, social and environmental challenges, providing an open forum for debate for E.U. and national policymakers, NGOs, business leaders, media and civil society.
Its activities currently include six key areas: Future Europe, Global Europe, (which includes the Asia Programme, the Africa programme and the Development Policy Forum), Smarter Europe, Greener Europe, Quality Europe and Security Europe.
The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation is supporting for 2 years (2015-2016) the think-tank covering costs related to the organization of the annual European Young Leaders “40 under 40” seminar and the annual ‘State of Europe’ high-level roundtable event.
The European Young Leaders Seminar is co-organized by the European Commission and aims to bring together Young Leaders from across Europe with a wide variety of backgrounds, including politics, business, civil society, academia, arts, science and the media.
This year’s State of Europe roundtable event is titled “Addressing Europe’s Crises – Policy Crossroads” and will be attended by EU Commissioners, MEPs and MPs, ministers, opinion-formers, civil society and business leaders.
In October 2014 FoE joined force with the Security & Defence Agenda, and became part of the Europe’s World Group, an independent and non-partisan alliance comprising a think tank, the influential policy journal Europe’s World and an the online citizens’ debating platform Debating Europe.
