Faculty of Philology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA)
The main target of the proposed research is the first edition, annotation and text commentary of an unknown up to now Latin manuscript of Adamantios Korais, dated 1970, which was “discovered” by the team coordinator in June 2012 in the Bibliothèque de l'Academie Nationale de Médecine (SRM 181A, dossier 1). The manuscript is entitled De morborum haereditariorum: existentia, natura, prophylaxi et cura (About hereditary diseases: existence, nature, precaution and medical care). The proposed research, aiming at two editions, one in Greek and a second one in French, is scheduled in order for the following discrete sections to be covered: a) the manuscript transcription and the French text revision, b) the Greek and French translation as well as the highlight of text sources and intertextual relationships in order for the literary and cultural value of the manuscript to be valuated, and c) the historical and philosophical introduction.
