The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation continues its long and multifaceted support to the Hellenic Mathematical Society, one of the oldest scientific societies in Greece. The Hellenic Mathematical Society, since its foundation in 1918, operates on a voluntary basis aiming to promote and develop the mathematical science, supporting the participation of Greek students in International Mathematical Olympiads.

In 2013, the International Mathematical Olympiad was held in Santa Marta, Columbia from July 18th until July 29th and the Greek 6-member mission continued its successful course to the competitions, winning 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and 3 honorable mentions.
