"LIVE AND COOPERATE": DEVELOPMENT OF PUPILS' ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND PROMOTION OF COOPERATION FOR MANUFACTURING AND SALE OF HAND-MADE PRODUCTS.
28th Primary School of Acharnes
This educational action was based on a business plan aimed at pupils utilising materials in order to craft objects with simple materials and means. The final product resulting from the use of the material resources was made available by the pupils themselves for sale at the bazaar, which was organised in a hall of the Acharnes Town Hall. The total revenue collected from the bazaar, following a unanimous decision of the coordinating committee, was decided to be made available to the school, to decorate the courtyard and classrooms and to enrich the school library.
Among the primary educational objectives set by the variety of school activities were the education - socialisation of pupils, the development of social skills, personal fulfillment and familiarisation with collective forms of economic activity. The individual goals were to raise environmental awareness, to familiarise pupils with the concepts of mathematics and physics (such as weight, volume, money, mixtures etc.) and, lastly, to develop activities that connect the school with the local community.
The implementation of the activities gave rise to the necessity for an interdisciplinary approach of cognitive subjects and the utilisation of the cognitive experience of pupils from curriculum subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, ICT, Social and Political Education, Religion, but also from the experience they gained from their experiential approach to knowledge.
Grades that participated in the activity: 2nd and 5th Grades
