Making Robots from Recyclable Materials in the birthplace of the Olympic Values
8th Primary School of Pyrgos
The educational activity took place in the school with the participation of all classes and enabled the students to explore the world of knowledge, ecology and art as well as to use their imagination to create original constructions with reference to technology, science and inventions.
In order to familiarize students with the concept of waste management, raise awareness of reuse, accentuate the necessity of recycling, and develop problem solving skills with the use of educational robotics, pupils linked knowledge with unique experiences.
During the programme, students made robots from recyclable materials and they also assembled robots that were able to execute commands. Moreover, radio shows and many educational visits took place in the course of the programme. Comic books, posters, digital books and games were also created. The students learned how to collaborate as well as respect the natural environment and the fundamental universal values. They also participated in a robotics competition.
