Coverage of Operational Expenses
Kapodistrias Museum - Centre for Kapodistrian Studies
Following the funding for the establishment of a modern website compiling all the information about the Museum’s scholarly activity, the Capodistrias Digital Archive, the Collection, as well as the educational programme and the Museum’s activity, the Foundation responded positively to a new request, this time in support of the Museum’s general operation for the years 2017 and 2018.
The Museum gives the visitor the opportunity to see some of the Governor’s personal items, such as portraits, medals, books, maps, religious images, historical artifacts from the Septinsular Republic period, memorabilia from the time he spent close to Czar Alexander I, valuable documents from the establishment of the Greek state, antique furniture that belonged to his family, as well as a rich digital archive that contains material related to his life and work. The visitor’s experience is further enriched by the use of digital media, a tour in four different languages with the use of audioguide systems and finally by a walk in the beautiful garden.
The renovated Museum was inaugurated on Saturday October 15th 2017 by the President of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
